Ashley

Ashley’s personal motto is "Free your mind and the hair will follow!" She believes hair is your most permanent and greatest accessory and that everyone can have easy, manageable, stylish hair.

Ashley is a senior stylist and is a certified Aveda in salon color educator. She started her career 8 years ago in Oklahoma City and has worked in Maryland for the past 6 years.

Education is a priority in Ashley's career. She regularly attends classes on classic and contemporary hair color and cutting at the Aveda Institute in Alexandria, taught by the industry’s leading stylists. She also attends the Aveda Advanced Institute in NYC and was honored to work at Fashion Week NYC in 2008.

Hannah

Hannah has been a stylist for four years. She graduated from the Aveda Institute Cosmetology program in Washington, DC. She feels very passionate about Aveda’s mission and products. Hannah is dedicated to Aveda and attends classes to continue her education in this ever changing and exciting industry. Coloring and cutting is her specialty.

Kualani

Kualani graduated from the Aveda Institute in San Antonio, Texas. She is a Senior Stylist at Varuna. Kualani is a Certified Color Educator of Aveda. She has worked the New York Fashion Week for the Spring and Fall Collection.

Kualani loves creating a relaxing experience for her guests.

Michelle

Michelle has been a professional stylist working the greater metro area since 1987. She has a keen eye for detail and strives to work with a person’s lifestyle requirements and their professional style to achieve the best look for them.

Michelle specializes in curly hair, short hair and retexturing hair.

Naima

"Your hair should compliment you, not define you."

Naima is a 2007 graduate of the Aveda Institute in Chicago. Naima loves Aveda and its connection to the earth, mind, body and soul. My passion is to make people feel and look beautiful on the outside, so that it can reflect on the inside.

Naima has done freelance work for the rock bands "Alesana" and "Drop Dead Gorgeous" as seen on MTV.

Kate is a graduate from Portsmouth Beauty School of Hair Design in Portsmouth, NH. She has been a stylist for 4 years. Her specialties are men and women cuts, color and formal updos.

Kate continues her education with Aveda and feels fortunate to be a part of Aveda and the Varuna family.

Christina is a graduate of the Aveda Institute of Washington, DC. She has been licensed for 4 years. Christina’s specialties include Formal Updos, men and women cuts and color. She is passionate about Aveda and looks forward to meeting you.

Tracey

Tracey is a cutting edge stylist who specializes in Formal Updos, dramatic changes, textured and precision cuts. Gianna

Gianna is an experienced makeup artist specializing in brow threading, lash extensions and bridal beauty techniques. Before she came to Varuna in 2007, Gianna trained with MAC cosmetics. She regularly freelances for various fashion icons including Chanel and Laura Mercier. Gianna is on her way to becoming an Aveda purefessional and participates in Fashion Week in New York City as a premier artist for the Aveda team.

Jennifer

Jennifer earned her massage degree from the Baltimore School of Massage, graduating with honors from the National Technical Honor Society. She is a member of the National Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and the American Massage Therapy Association. She is also a Reiki practicioner.

Jennifer chose a career in bodywork because she believes in the therapeutic effects of massage. The ability to share this with people makes this a career she wakes up and looks forward to every day.

Jennifer understands each client is unique in their needs, tailoring each massage accordingly, assuring individual treatment for each guest.

Antoinette

Antionette is a kind hearted, down to earth nail therapist. She loves to create a nurturing environment for her guests. She pays attention to detail by asking her guests exactly what they need and fulfilling those requests. Your hands are feet will love you when you after your appointment with her. "My experience with Varuna and Aveda has taught me the importance of working with the environment and still doing what I love."

Kelly

Kelly is a licensed massage therapist. She is a graduate of the Baltimore School of Massage and has been working with Aveda products from the beginning of her career. Her interest with massage started with many years of competitive gymnastics. She is no stranger to aches and pains. Kelly connects with many of her guests because she gets its, she has been there. She will ease your aches and pains as well as melt away every day stresses in your life. You will walk out feeling like a different person. Kelly also performs body treatments and Reiki.

Tom

After 30 years in show business, Tom made a career changes to become a massage therapist. Tom attended the Utah College of Massage Therapy, graduating with honors from the both the Professional and Master Body programs in 2005.

Tom is trained in several massage and energy techniques that he blends to personalize each massage.

Natalie

Natalie graduated from the Baltimore School of Massage program in 2001. She has had a lifelong interest in the mind and body connection that led her to be a student of healing modalities. Continuing my education in healing therapies and human service is a daily joyous task. She is honored to be a part of Varuna and contributing to Aveda’s commitment to the earth and its people.

Samantha

Lead Esthetician, Spa Trainer and Makeup Artist. She is a graduate of Von Lee International School of Aesthetics. Samantha also created our Prana "wind of life" facial massage. She is skilled in foot reflexology, ayurvedic pressure point therapy and has successfully completed the Advanced Aveda Academia classes at the Aveda Institute of Washington, DC. She specializes in custom facials, earthly body treatments and Nufree all natural waxing services.

Kim

Kim is a licensed massage therapist with a degree in exercise physiology from East Carolina University. Before earning her massage certification, she engaged in post undergraduate work in physical therapy. In addition to her studies, Kim spent 2 years completing her massage therapy training in Maryland where she was able to incorporate her background into healing and wellness. She has been practicing since 2007 and greatly enjoys her work and her ability to improve the well-being of each of her guests.

Valeri

Valeri's mission as a Massage Therapist at Varuna is to facilitate a safe and nurturing environment, promote a positive holistic experience with appropriate massage modalities and provide quality aromatic Aveda products for each massage. An important goal is for each guest to achieve a higher level of wellness and well-being. As a 2001 graduate of the Baltimore School of Massage Medical Program, Valeri has connected her educational experiences along with many years working in physical therapy rehab services to help each guest improve their range of motion and decrease pain through a variety of techniques: including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofacial Release and Reflexology. The application of Aveda skin products insures each guest a caring and uplifting experience during each customized massage.

Jenn

Jenn is a licensed massage therapist and has been with Varuna since February 2008. She made the transition from a career in corporate American to massage several years ago and could not be happier. Although Jenn enjoys many aspects of being a massage therapist, she most enjoys the positive impact that her work has on her guest’s physical and mental wellness. Jenn specializes in Swedish, Deep Tissue and Myofascial massage techniques.
